Exiled (2006)

The film is a triumph of production design and art direction, a visual and aural buffet for film fanatics to savor. Beyond that, Exiled is a fairly frivolous exercise. In the context of Johnnie To Kei-Fung's body of work, this film has less to do with The Mission [1999] than it does with ROOT 2 [2001], and that is not a bad thing. Law Wing-Cheong has his fingerprints all over this movie.

The gang enjoys a respite.
